I've seen amazing photographs in black and white but with a spot of color. For example a cat done in black and white with green eyes or a rose bush done in black and white with red roses. Can someone explain how this is done please.

Carolyn,
When we did it years ago you took the photo in B&W, printed it on a fiber paper and then
hand colored it with oils or markers. I'm sure it can be done digitally but I'm behind the times.
I'm just getting back into photography and hopefully will learn digital. Hope this helps.
Carolyn,
Not sure if you still need help with this, but what software do you have on your computer? This is not something that can be done in camera. Take the picture color, transfer it to your computer and then you can change it using several programs. The basic programs that come with your OS or camera for free won't do something like that, but photoshop elements or paint shop pro can easily do that. Send me a message if you want more info.
