1 Giga PenDrive iVO FR writeprotection

I've gotten this player for Christmas and it was working fine. Now, all of a sudden it won't let me write nor erase files from it (music plays fine, though) and the pc tells me I have to remove the protection. But I haven't put any protection on it!
I tried formatting it in MS-DOS which resulted in all files disappearing but disk space still being occupied. =\ And I'm still unable to write on it.
It's driving me mad, I've tried accessing PenDrive's site, but it doesn't seem to have anything helpful besides technical support and as of now I can't find the manual *digs around in random boxes to no avail*.
Any help will be appreciated!
