Reply to 37" Vizio LCD# VW37L- Turns on/No pic on June 27, 2008
You said a child struck the TV with a toy. That's not a good thing for an LCD. It's quite possible the tubes inside the panel are broken as well as the panel itself. If...
Reply to Toshiba 62HM195 with possible bad light engine. on June 7, 2008
Getting into the service menu to adjust the verticle centering or size will do you no good. You have an optical problem where no light is capable of reaching that portion of the screen. The...
Reply to Toshiba 62HM195 with possible bad light engine. on June 5, 2008
Your problem is very similar to the issues that Toshiba has experienced with their HM66 models. A focusing mirror that's glued to a metal frame has come unglued due to the heat and has slipped...

As I already stated. You have a bad optical engine. Unless Sony has extended the warranty on the engines for this model this is going to be an expensive repair ($700 - 1000) possibly more....
Reply to 2.5 year old Pioneer Elite 50" Won't Turn On on June 4, 2008
My advice. Call an authorized Pioneer repair station. Do NOT attempt to repair this yourself. Pioneer has installed a unique method of making sure the wrong people don't mess with their sets. You stand the...

Optical engine. You might want to call Sony customer service on the outside chance that the engine might be covered by an extended warranty. Otherwise, prepare for major $$ to repair.
Reply to Insignia IS-TVHD30 manufacturer? on May 23, 2008
If the unit is under warranty, labor or parts, they'll get a new set. If under a service contract, the same thing for the duration of the contract. If it's out of warranty, the customer...
Reply to Insignia IS-TVHD30 manufacturer? on May 23, 2008
Unfortunately, it's quite likely there are no parts available for that unit. Best Buy sells a lot of Insignia, it's their house brand, and they can't get parts for them.

Here's a quick and easy on the V700 series. Pull off the front lower grill. Remove the screws to remove the plastic panel the Vol/channel buttons are attached to. This piece kinda slides up under...

Reply to Hitachi 50v715 light engine replacement on May 3, 2008
The 700 series engines are not as bad as the 500 series were. They came out with a cleaning kit for techs to actually attempt to tear down the engines and clean off dust that's...

Something is loading down the power supply. Sanyo has few if any service manuals available for any of their Plasma or LCD TV's on their website.

Why is it so hard to get a Sony Service bulletin? It's not hard. Go to Sony's ESI website, log on, click on search documents, enter the model number of the set (no dashes) or...

The light engine is located inside the set I think? As for a manual? I can tell you LG manuals are not the best place to obtain part numbers. There are too many versions of...

You've either got a bad ballast or a DMD board.

You bought a cheap LCD TV along with all the ramifications of that. It sounds like a bad panel or the ribbon connector from the panel to the controller board is defective or isn't making...

I'm afraid I'm not understanding your problem here. Was the set working when you were having this 4 blink red light problem? If it wasn't, how were you able to perform a firmware upgrade? If...

You'll have to take the back off and tear the unit down to get to the connectors. I'll stress again that it's only a possibility. Odds are you've got a bad PDP (Plasma) panel. That...

Definitely get the extended warranty service company into play on this one. Red sparkle issues in LG/Zenith Plasma's are normally repaired with the replacement of the X & Y sustain boards along with the logic...
