How do I play a SERIES of programs in a folder on DirectTV's DVR?

I record a lot of shows on our DVR unit from DirectTV. (It's NOT HD and we're not interested in HD tv unless that's the only way to solve our problem.) Sometimes I'd like to save the shows from the satellite recorder onto discs on our separate DVR machine. Is there a way to play the shows in the DirectTV folder one after another so I don't have to start each time one show is over and copied to disc? I have a Panasonic EZ27 and it works great. The folks there said it's a Direct TV issue, not them and vice versa. Any ideas??? Thanks. Sara

If I press the DVD button I can open the dvd input bit but the screen does not change. If I put a DVD in I can hear the whiring sound but nothing happens. I have had a free view box plugged into it for about a week through the scart plug. Thanks for the help Ollie

Now the red light on the eye will not come on and it will not spin at all. Sometimes it will just keep spinning and just say dvd or no disc. Please help we have no cable and only watch movies now. It is a philips surround sound dvd player not sure of what model. Thank You

My girlfriend was home during the cable install today. Installation tech left without installing/bringing my modem as well as the 2nd box for the bedroom. The main rooms HD/DVR box has no sound. Let me re-phrase that: barely has sound if the tv volume is at 100%. I put in a DVD and the sound was at the correct level. Any ideas- the only idea the customer service had was to exchange it for a new box today. I thought maybe some tv setting was set incorrectly. Thanks

Samsung DVD-VR357 player/recorder; VCR has sound but no video

I have a Samsung combination DVD/VCR recorder, model DVD-VR357. It worked well until recently. I had it hooked up with RCA cables for video and audio. I then bought a new receiver (the old one blew) and hooked it up with component video cables and optical audio cables. Now I've noticed the VCR has no video and only sound while the DVD works fine. I went back to the previous setup, RCA cables for video and sound, but the VCR still only outputs sound. I even hooked the player directly into the TV input to eliminate the receiver as an issue with no success. I don't use the VCR that often so I'm assuming that something happened before buying the new receiver. Any ideas why the VCR would not play video?

Should I switch to satellite?

Hey gang, So I've been a cable customer for... well... ever really. And I'm starting to get annoyed with three things: 1. Comcast's recent anti-consumer business decisions about broadband internet access 2. The 'lack' of really expanding their high definition offerings (hence the poll) 3. The OEM HD-DVR pay 12 bucks a month for is kind of... crappy. So I've recently been wooed by the advertising I've been seeing from DirecTV and Dish Network... and I'm leaning toward DirecTV. It seems like you get a lot more for your money, but I'm hesitant to switch. Tell me, what do I need to know? What do you think are the ups and downs of satellite? Should I switch? If I do, which way do I go and what hardware should I get? I've got 4 TVs I need to run, btw, but could sacrifice 1 of them if need be.

Saving old VHS tapes to PC for use in Studio DV

I KNOW I have done this before, but now it seems impossible for me to run old VHS tapes into my PC. Previously, I had connected a VCR through a digital camcorder (Panasonic PV-DV200) into my PC (HP Media Center). I opened Studio DV, selected "capture", and was able to capture the running VHS tape, through the camcorder, on to my computer. For some unknown reason, this does not seem to be working for me now. I can, however, import any new video shot with my camcorder; not old VHS tapes. Since this did not seem to work, I tried taping the old VHS tape onto a blank tape in my camcorder. I inserted the recorded tape into the VCR, put a blank tape in the camcorder. I pushed "play" on the VCR, and "Record" on the camcorder. The two devices were connected via an S-Video cable. NOTHING!! I tested the S-Video cable by running the VCR to the TV and the camcorder to the TV. Both worked. Apparently there is some issue between the camera and the VCR (I tried more than one VCR). Having read the article on how to convert VHS tape to digital through the S-Video...

I have a proscan plus gols vcr that is stuck in the lock mode and a tape is in the machine. Unfortunately, I do not have the original remote and am using an RCA universal, and all of my three weeks of attempts to contact anyone with an answer have been much less than successful. I've tried a variety of things ending with unplugging the machine for several days, but I still get the LOCK message when I turn it on, then it immediately shuts off. I use the machine to tape things for my grandson, and he is very disappointed that his shows are not being taped! Hopefully someone out there can help me as all of my attempts to contact thomson electronics have been futal to say the least! I no longer have the manual either, so anyone that knows where I could download one, it would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.
