Laptop/HDTV connection - Picture not lining up

I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 laptop with an ATI X1300 (or maybe X1400) gpu. Using the DVI connectors, I have been able to view my laptop through my Mitsubishi HDTV. However, the screen is not lining up exactly when displayed on my tv. Its like the tv is zoomed slightly so that I can only see the top part of the taskbar and the same is true for the top and sides of the screen. I can't seem to figure out how to make it line up. Can anyone help me solve this very annoying problem?

I have a Mitsubishi rear projection TV (WT-42311). I can not adjust the red convergence horizontally. I replaced the convergence IC's (STK 392-110) with new Sanyo's, checked the pico fuses F9A02,03,04,05, and F9B01, F9D00(glass fuse), and F5A00 all are good. No change, still can not adjust red left or right. What is the next thing I can check? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I replaced both ic chips and I am still not getting a picture. Makes a click and back to the 6 blinks. Checked the 2 picos on the G board and also the 7 picos on the D board. All have ohm reading. Not sure if this has anything to do with it but I went through resistors and only found resistor that gave no ohm reading. Which might be ok given the size of it. Its near where the outlet plug connects to the G board. Its quite a big resistor. I don't think this has anything to do with the 6 blinks though. but just thought I would throw that out there. I've checked my soldering and messed with it 3 times but still nothing. Any suggestions?

Hi, This is my first real TV repair, and so far I'm enjoying it-- except the whole not working thing... Meh, Details... I did some searching in the forums but couldn't find anything that quite fit what I'm experiencing. I replaced the two STK392-110s in a Panasonic PT-47WX53G after experiencing convergence issues. It was better than ever for about 10 minutes and then upon switching to an HD channel the issues returned. Now it's worse than before. Oh and before you ask. Yes, the layer or heat sink compound I put on them was a work of art. Nice and thick (but not too thick) and perfectly even, so if they burnt up there's something more sinister going on than just that. I've read a bit about Pico Fuses, and Resistors but wanted to make sure it wasn't an even bigger problem like some kind of power management malfunction before I spent any more time crouched inside of this thing. I guess I'll just keep beating it with this foam Nerf sword... See if that helps. Thanks!

I have a KP-57WS500 that is shutting down. My TV problems started last year with retrace lines, mostly blue. I adjusted the screen control on the Focus Block until retrace lines dissappeared. For the last while the screen would go all blue and shut down. Sometimes the TV would last for days before it happened again, but now it only lasts a few minutes and shuts down. It has 8 blinks on the LED which would suggest the flyback. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

I have a Sony Projection TV (model KP-65WS510) with a convergence problem. I tried to fix the 3D imagine by using the Flash Focus and the Manual Convergence, but the picture was still bad. After locating this site and reading numerous post, especially from Larry Dillon, regarding this problem, I order the convergence repair kit from Tv RepairKits.com. Although I'm by no means an expert at soldering I figured I could handle this task. I replaced both STK-392-560 convergence chips on the D board. This still didn't solve the problem. Next, I replaced a bad 5amp fuse on the G board (PS5001) that I found. Still problem not solved. However this time I had a solid blue vertical line down the center of the screen, which I didn't have before. I checked all 3.5 amp fuses, they were good. No (4.7 OHM) resistors look burnt. Next, I de-soldered and re-soldered the convergence chips just to ensure my soldering job was not the problem, still had same problem. However, this time I didn't have a vertical blue line down the center of the screen but did still have the convergence problem. After waitng for approx. 30 mintuers I tried the flash...

We tried to adjust color settings and changed the HDMI cable, but it didn't really help. Their previous big screen projection TV did the same thing. They have AT&T U-Verse. Could it be the coax cable from the wall to the TV. Any ideas???? Thanks!
