Are "Classic" Video Games More Fun?

I had been thinking about this quite a bit lately, and after sharing my old school NES collection with some members over at RoboCommunity , some members there agreed with something I've believed all along: that old or "classic" video games are more fun. Of course, old school games aren't as graphically impressive, and usually not as expansive, but somehow - at least to me - they were more captivating. Is this because gamers like me, who grew up having to use our imaginations rather than having FMV and CG shoved in our faces, simply appreciated old school gaming more? Is it a psychological thing - are we just reliving our youth with classic games? Or are "old school" games truly more fun and inventive? I have lots of opinions here but I'd really like to hear from the community first :)

Alright, it worked, not always well with the regular xbox. I got my xbox 360 and had no problems connecting, worked fine. One day, i take it to a friend hook everything up. Change network settings and get on live at his house no problem. Take it home same thing works. Tryed to do this again, could not connect at his house, and could not reconnect at my house. When I test the connection, it fails on wireless network. Any ideas? I am in the process of getting the xbox brand USB adapter. But that could be awhile so any help is appreciated.

Two days ago, I bought a game called Darkwatch . When I got home, I put the game in the x-box and a screen came up saying: Cannot read disc. Make sure it is a DVD, x-box game, or CD. (Not exact words.) Well, we took the game back to the store and they said they resurfaced it. So I brought it back home and tried to play, but it only said the same thing. The thing is, all of my other games work. Any help?

Help with setup? XBConnect

This is a dumb question I'm sure. I'm looking at the XBConnect. I'm new to this stuff but I'm pretty handy with the computer. I'm a beginner at advanced network setup. Okay, my son is interested in this xbconnect. His friend downloaded it on his computer. Here's the problem... The computer is hooked via wired ethernet through our router. We don't use wireless. The computer doesn't have a wireless hookup and our whole network is wired. The XBOX 360 is hooked up through a wired connection as well in the same room. What is the configuration if we want to hook this up properly. The link to the configuration page doesn't work. Can I add an additional ethernet card into the computer and hook the xbox up to that? I'm just a little confused here. Please let me know. Thank You busyredhed

It plugs into the controller port, has numbers 1,3,5,7 on it, and has 2 buttons on it that when pushed, show A, B, C, 1 through 8. I'd like to try and find out what this is for. Can anyone help?
hello, i am asking this on here because i trust the opinions of the users on techlore. i have some knowledge of home video/audio, but i am not a pro. we are interested in getting a blu-ray player, figured why not buy a play station 3 and kill 2 birds with one stone. as far as blu-ray playing, is there any reason not to think this way? also, we have a sony wega with hdmi input and a denon avr-2800 receiver without hdmi. do i have to have a receiver with hdmi? or can i send the picture to the tv with hdmi and route the audio thru my denon? maybe my first purchase should be a new receiver? will my sony kp-46wt520 tv produce the blu-ray quality pic or is it time for a new tv? thank you in advance for your time and knowledge.
