Laptop/HDTV connection - Picture not lining up

I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 laptop with an ATI X1300 (or maybe X1400) gpu. Using the DVI connectors, I have been able to view my laptop through my Mitsubishi HDTV. However, the screen is not lining up exactly when displayed on my tv. Its like the tv is zoomed slightly so that I can only see the top part of the taskbar and the same is true for the top and sides of the screen. I can't seem to figure out how to make it line up. Can anyone help me solve this very annoying problem?

Network anti-virus removal

I couldn't make an approiate title for my problem; so here goes: I have 2 computers plugged into a Bell modem. On the newer computer I have a Bell Internet account and have just purchased a complete anti-virus program. On the other hand my other computer was majorly attacked by what was suppose to be a free ant-virus program from AVG. The PC doesn't allow me to download anything. It will let me surf for pictures and informatio. Anyways the AVG tells me i have all these viruses and adware and malware. I don't believe them. My question is: If I set up the two as a network, is it possible to use the anti-virus program from one computer and rescue the other one? OR should I just go out and buy new anti-virus software and remove it that way on the older computer?

Is my computer connected to my television somehow killing my motherboards?

Great thread Matt. I've had no trouble connecting my PC to my LG LCD television using a VGA cable and it looks great. However, after I had it on there for a few weeks, the motherboard in my computer died. It's an ASUS Motherboard P5GC-MX/1333. No trouble, I ordered a new motherboard and got an RMA on the old one. The new mobo is a GIGABYTE GA-MA770-UD3. About 2 weeks later this motherboard died as well! I've been using a XFX GX260NADBF GeForce GTX 260 Black Edition graphics card and all the drivers are updated. There's been no trouble with that. My question to you is: Do you think having my computer connected to my television may somehow be killing my motherboards??

Help! Cable PC to multiple TVs!

Hi everyone, I am getting ready to buy a new laptop and none of them have the round (S-video) connector I have been using to connect my laptop to different TVs. (I do photo editing and digital scrapbooking software demonstrations at home parties and try to connect to their TV so everyone can see.) The s-video worked for most of the TVs I ran into, but now I am not sure what to get. It needs to work with most TVs and be easy to hook up - a front connection is best, because I don't want it to be a big hassle (for me or my host!). Most TV's have the older (RCA?) 3 colored wire inputs and a lot have the round s-video... and that is the extent of my knowledge! Can anyone help me please? Thanks in advance! Becky

Uprading a Graphics Card... What Are the Limitations?

<img align="right" hspace="10" src="http://www.techlore.com/imagelib/contentitem/26868/f0f219158e118e83-63ce67e6-12381562b54--3f7168659071.jpg">Question: I have an Acer Aspire T160 MB-70 PC with an Acer FC51GM motherboard. It has built in graphics ( Nvidia 6100 ). It has a 2.2 ghz CPU and a standard PSU. It can take a maximum of 4GB RAM. I would like to buy a new graphics card which can be placed in a PCI Express slot. It must be the best one that my motherboard will accept as money is not an object. In addition, I am willing to upgrade the PSU if necessary and also the CPU. I will be using the graphics card as an all rounder as I do gaming and watch alot of videos, dvds etc on the PC. It must preferably have a hdmi output on it and have HD capabilities. I would like this to be connected to the TV. I am having difficulty finding information regarding what graphic cards my system in its present state will accept. I want the best I can get and am willing to upgrade other components. I have seen one which I believe will fit into my present system which is the Nvidia GeForce 9500 GPU. Will this motherboard accept a 1GB card or do...
