Power amp problem, no sound out one channel.

Hi does any one have any idea how to fix a problem i have with my setup? I have tried three amps, The third today brand new from maplins. 2 mixers, check cables cant rem how many times, with the same result. I am getting a really low output on one chan. When i slide the vol up on mixer, it sound like a distored state. The only thing i have not change is the speaker. It will be doing that next. Does anyone think it could be the xover modules between speaker and horn. Funny thing is both speakers seems to play ok from the working channel. Its wierd.

Home Speaker Setup/Receiver Config

Ok, here's my setup: Fronts - Def. Tech ProMonitor 1000s, 4 surrounds - Def Tech ProMonitor 60s ProCenter 60 and ProSub 60, Receiver - Pioneer Elite VSX-80-TXV. I recently read an article that indicated I may have had my speaker wired incorrectly to get the best sound ( I had them wired direct from receiver to speakers). The manual and some sites suggested that I should wire the receiver to the sub, sub to the fronts. I did that (with mixed results). So, my question is this, with this current setup, how should I be utilizing the crossovers? Should I set my receiver all the way up to 200hz and use the sub low level crossover, or turn the sub crossover all the way up to 150 hz and use the receiver? I am now using the first scenario and it seems like the highs out of my fronts are really dominant. Not sure what to do. Thanks.

I at one time had a complete Pioneer system, the main unit/controller was damaged in a move, the Sub HTV-SW1 is ok, my question is the sub usuable if it were added to a nother surround system, if so does anyone have any idea as to the inputs? The two connections on the rear (of the sub) are not common connectors, thanks to anyone for your help.

Today, it looks like M&K may be looking to make their return in the near future thanks to a tip by member FIG here in the TechLore Community. mksoundsystem.com went online today, and appears to be M&K Sound's new website. Earlier in the day, the site wasn't there, but several search engine caches had started to reveal quite a bit about what was going on behind the scenes. Most importantly, the new site shows which M&K products the new ownership is bringing back. The lines currently listed include: Most of the classic M&K 150 THX Series S-150THX (main speaker) MP-150 THX (on wall version of the S-150THX) SS-150THX Tripole Surround Speaker MX-250THX (Powerful dual 12" push-pull sub) MX-350THX (Super powerful dual 12" push-pull sub) Most of the M&K 750 THX System LCR-750THX (main speakers) Center 750 THX (center channel) Surr 55 T Tripole (surrounds..) SB-1250THX Subwoofer (single 12" subwoofer) M&K Xenon Series X-36 (Compact loudspeaker) X-26 (Satellite loudspeaker) X-24T (Tripole surround) M&K M Series M-7 (compact loudspeaker) M-5 (satellite loudspeaker) M-4T...
