Dumb question probably:-)

Hi! I have the opportunity to get a 10-year old 45" GE Projection tv at a very good price, but the problem is that the only way to get it home is to put it on it's side to get it into the back of a pickup with a cap on:-( 'Twould be on the road for about half an hour over good roads. Is it ok to do this? I don't know if it's made to be able to. I really don't want to no matter what, but I have no choice. I'm wondering if it's like the old addage about you not being able to lay a fridge on it's side, but that's wrong, you can, just not for long, and it has to sit for at least a day before plugging in. But, this is not a fridge, and I worry about the alignment. Thanks for any help!

Sony KP 53S17 Projection tv problem

I have a Sony KP 53S17 from year 1996 that's having some problems, mainly in the screen. While the tv is running, horizontal lines appear, flashing and jumping once in a while in areas across the screen. If the tv is left running for a while, the problem not only persists, but the number of lines flashing on the screen also increase. Does anyone recognize this kind of problem and where the problem might be in the tv? Any advice for how to fix it?

Looking for a good place to part out my LCD

I have a Samsung 46" LCD that was broke while moving. I pulled all the boards and good stuff out and was thinking of putting it out on eBay. But after looking at what was already on there, ie. people not properly listing the boards like calling the power supply IP271135A instead of the actual part number BN44-00202A. And not to mention seller fee for this and fee for that and fee for your paypal transaction and then the fee to transfer it to your bank account. I was just hoping someone knew a better place to sell where people know what they are selling so that the person buying gets what they are looking for without all the fees. And I know its not craigslist, at least not in my area. I would have liked to have fixed this TV but the LCD display costs more than complete new TV. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Isn't there anyone around here who's seen this before??? I have a Sony KP-43HT20 rear projection TV with the RA-6 chassis. The on-screen menu has become unreadable. The normally green characters on the video, audio, channel, parental and timer menus are dark and barely visible. Any ideas how to tackle this problem? Thanks.

Dreaded 5 flash after STK replacement but works OK

HI all first poster here but long time user of this great forum. After weeks of research I have repaired my Sony KP-57HW40 the typical convergence STK replacement and one 5 amp fuse on the - 22v power supply. Worked great for an hour. Then the screen turned very red and the dreaded 5 flash. I adjusted the red down via the focus block and much better but still color is a bit off yellowish. Replaced the IC701 TDA6120Q/N2/S1 on the CR board no help. I noticed test point 7101 is much lower about 50 volt with a meter. Compared to about 150 on the others. Jungle chip? Shading circuit? A bit lost now. TV works ok just a bit yellow tint and a 5 flash. Thanks to all for your help Mark

Our old computer finally died and I had to buy a new one. We had a VGA splitter (Y) cable connected to the last computer. We could use the monitor and our TV. We had no problems. I connected it to the new computer and it doesn't work correctly. The computer monitor will blink to black and then back on every minute or so. I have tried to change the resolution and Hz and nothing seems to work. Anbody got a suggestion?
