hi recently replaced my dell studio battery, however i'm getting the message"battery not detected" is this because i never bought the battery from dell? the battery does not charge and i have to be connected to the mains to use the lap top. is there anything i can do to make the system detect the battery. many thanks joe

Try rubbing the pins on the laptop with sand paper they be corroded and just need cleaned so they can make contact.
