Alright, it worked, not always well with the regular xbox. I got my xbox 360 and had no problems connecting, worked fine. One day, i take it to a friend hook everything up. Change network settings and get on live at his house no problem. Take it home same thing works. Tryed to do this again, could not connect at his house, and could not reconnect at my house. When I test the connection, it fails on wireless network. Any ideas? I am in the process of getting the xbox brand USB adapter. But that could be awhile so any help is appreciated.

definetley a possibility. I am working on getting the actual xbox 360 brand adapter, but I wanna know what the problem is, I am sure its the adapter cause everywhere else has internet.

I'm willing to bet the system surged power to the adapter for some reason (connecting, holding a connection, boosting due to lag), and the adapter wasn't made to handle the surge and fried. The Microsoft Xbox 360 brand one probably has sturdier electronics, to allow the surges.

Also, check the plug. See if it's loose, broken, or just dirty. Those things are easy to break, I broke the one on my PSP.

The only thing plugged into the 360 was the ethernet cable. The power cord for the adapter was in the surge protector. I mean the problem is already solved but I would like to know the problem still.
