alright heres my problem. I have a off brand wireless adapter. it worked for my regular xbox but when my friend came over and we tried configuring it to that and it didnt work. anyone know what the problem is or do i just need a new one?

What kind of wireless adapter is it? Since you used it with your old xbox, it should be a Wi-Fi to Ethernet bridge, but knowing which one would be helpful.

it's made by linksys and on the box it says dual-band wireless A/G game adapter. and thats what i was thinking. idk if it was a problem with how i tried adapting it to the 360 or what. but any help is appreciated

I think I might've figured out the problem, a friend of mine has an older adapter also, he just uses the ethernet cord that comes with the 360 instead of the default one.
