Hello,

I recently fixed the green blinking light of death problem with the help of a friend and some instruction from this site.  The TV has been fine for a few months and then a few days ago while watching a movie I got a blue rainbow arch across the screen.  The blue convergence is off.

Here is a pic of the screen...

Is this something I could repair myself?  We tackled the green blinking light dilemma by adding the new capacitors.  Hopefully we can handle this one with a little help from someone here.

thanks guys!

Sam

Yep, we help loads of people fix their TV sets here. Your problem is now with the convergence IC's that need to be replaced. You should have been sen the service manual when you where here last time for this TV set. You can see the convergence IC on the large metal heatsink on the middle board of the chassis. You cannot see it from the back of the set as it is one the other side of the heat sink. Good Luck

We don't have the service manual. That is available here on this site?

This sounds like it might be an easier repair than the blinking green light. Is there step by step instructions available here too? I am not too terribly tech savvy as I don't know names of many of the items by sight alone. But I am not entirely helpless and I actually found someone that had posted pictures of the placing of the capacitors for the other problem and that made it cake. I am not sure if that was you or not Larry, but it saved me a bundle. I would love to be able to do this one myself.

Oh and how would I go about ordering this part?

I really appreciate you being the kind of guy willing to freely share your expertise. Thank you.
