Larry, could the new config chips be bad and actually turn off the green crt. It is on at the base, but no light comes out.

What do you mean by a config chip?

Sorry, I meant convergence chip.
Could it be telling the green crt to turn off?

I just can't figure out why it's base is glowing, but no green light is coming out. Maybe I received bad configuation chips ???

You mean convergence not configuration. And highly unlikely, The cause for this most of the time after a part is replaced is a bad connection on a plug or connector.
