Hi

I have a Canon 300D with a BG-E3 Grip/power pack.

I am looking to upgrade to a Canon 40D which uses a BG-E2 grip.

What I want to know is if the BG-E3 can be used on the 40D - I think the answer is no but wondered if anyobe knew for certain?

Thanks

Tony,

You are correct.  The BG-E3 works with the Digital Rebel / 300D/350D line of Canons.  The BG-E2 works with the 20D/30D/40D line, which are different body styles.  To the best of my knowledge, there's no way to use an E3 on a 40D.

Also, can you tell me what the diiference is between the BG-E2 and the BG-E2N? The N seems to be the same just with weatherproofing but seems a lot more expensive? Is that right?

Tony,

I don't own either grip for my 30D, but from what I've read/heard, the E2N is an upgraded version of the E2.  Primary improvements in the E2N are the weatherproofing for the battery compartment and a better textured grip.
