Hi,
I have a Mitsubishi WD 62-525 DLP t.v. that had the constant red light indicator come on. I replaced the lamp, but when I turn the t.v. back on it runs for about 2 minutes without displaying a picture or producing sound and then goes back to the constant red light indicator. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas on what might be wrong?
I also have a WD-62525. Sometimes it comes on but the picture is scrambled. But sometimes it acts like yours. When I turn it on , the green light comes on and then after a minute or so, the set shuts down and the light comes on that tells me to replace the bulb. I have done that, but thats not the problem. I hope we see a response.

After looking everywhere trying to find an answer, I finally gave in and called a repair man. They had to take my t.v. to the shop, where it sat for a week, and told me that they had to replace some kind of power control board. The guy that delivered my t.v. back to me was the one who told me about the "power control board" problem, but he really didn't sound like he knew what he was talking about. So there it is, I looked high and low for an answer and couldn't find one. Even the guy who brought my t.v. back couldn't fully explain the problem. Go figure

The power control board that would control the lamp would be the lamp ballast board and yes these board are replaced for your problem. Sorry I did not see your post before. This board usually is not a consumer replaceable part.

ps....press power button...green led comes on for about 45 seconds then to red led(lamp)

I to am experiencing the same issue (red light, 3-4 code, already replaced the lamp). Would one of these kits fix the issue? I am having the same problem. I have a Mitsubishi WD 62525 and I am getting a solid red light, which means to change the bulb, but I have already changed the bulb. I also put in a new lamp ballast and this did not help. I will be interested to know if anyone can find out what is going on. This tv is only about two and half years old. I guess I am going to have to take the tv back to where I bought it and let them tear into it. I am tired to messing with it!
I have a mitsubishi wd62525 dlp tv that is less than 3 yrs old and we are having the same red light issue after turning the tv on. The green light comes on for a minute or two then the red lamp light comes on. I have tried the reset button and it didn't help. I have changed the lamp and the lamp ballast and the same thing is happening. Does anyone know what is going on? I am really frustrated over this whole thing. Our main power supply went out on this tv after only the first year. I wonder if I got a lemon. There is just too many things going wrong with this tv.
im reporting back mitsubishi paid for the parts and I paid for the labor I you need to do is get an estimate from a know shop call mitsu. tell them you are very dissaponited and at this tv and they will ask you for your purchace recipt a estimate of the problem send it to them,this is a known problem with this tv's they will rebuilt the chassis on it that is the problem.good luck!

what do you mean "chasis" will need to be rebuilt. That sounds expensive. I haven't contacted Mitsubishi yet, but in my past experience, they will not be eager to help out. thanks.

I have a WD-62531. I replaced the lamp. Two weeks later same problem (red light, sound good, no picture)but the lamp is good. Some one told me it could be the ballast. Does this sound right?

You seeem to be very knowledgeable with these models. I am hoping I could get some advice.
I also have a WD-62725. The green light has always been a problem but reseting it resolved the issue until now. My tv recently shut down on a blinking red light failure in the status location. (1 long flash then 3 short flash). My tv will not operate at all now. The bulb has been replaced recently. I keep pretty good care of it and keep the filter clean.
I am a controls and automation tech. if I could get some advice I am hoping to resolve the issue myself.

have a wd-62525. replaced the lamp. worked for a couple months. then got the red light again. lamp looked fine. was getting a code lamp for ballast or exhaust fan stopped. replaced lamp ballast and now it has green light for few minutes then go to solid red light on lamp. is it a power problem or is the lamp really bad? seeing how many people have had this problem i dont know why there hasnt been some kind of recall or something. the amount of money put into this thing mine as well have bought a flat screen for a little more. would never buy a tv made by a car company again lol
