Found an article in Popular Science about a new type of keyboard developed in Japan that reminds me a lot of the universal touchscreen interface you see in all the Star Trek TNG (and beyond) series. Wonder if this is the direction in which things will develop.

Can anyone see any current-day uses for something like this?

???

Now I don't think they look that much alike at all. What are you trying to pull here, Jeff?

Actually, cool find. Adaptable touch interfaces are going to be cool, but I don't think you're going to see Trek based designs on your refriderator anytime soon. In fact, I'm not sure the rigid button display (where you tap blue, blue, yellow, red, blue, red, red) is going to be the best use of this tech.

I'm not totally behind Microsofts vision either, but I think they're on a better track with their multi-touch table. Did you see that vid?
