I have a problem with my 2004 Panasonic PT-53WX54J. It has blue sort of 1/8 circle like rising sun shape on the bottom part of my TV. Is this a circut convergence IC problem? If so is this easily repairable if I am comfortable with a soldering iron? What parts would I look for and need to order? Thanks for your help.
I succeeded in fixing my Panasonic PT-53TW53G by replacing the two convergence amplifier ICs STK392-110 (check if yours are 110'st) and a burnt-out resistor. Thanks to Chris Palmer for his excellent write-up: http://cmpalmer.blogspot.com/2006/11/fixing-my-own-tv-part-ii.html
If yours uses stk392-110 or stk392-120 , replace with a stk392-150 or stk392-180 it will give you a higher wattage ic that will help give you more life out of the ic. Also check for open resistors.
