Ok, so let us say that hypothetically [ in reality ] I know very little about  some [ 99% ] of the items talked about on this site. Waht do you think the best product would be for each of these tasks i'd like to accomplish:

 1. There is a show that has old episodes airing on CBS.com, is there a tool that would let me watch them on my TV?

 2. The instructions on my plasma tv** say "don't connect this to a video game device". Sooo, should I listen to that? Or is it some BS and I should still hok up my Wii? What is the real danger?
