Hello,

I am having some convergence issues on a 55819 mitsu.  I think I will start by checking the connections.  Larry, can you please email me any documentation that you have on this set?  I have 2 kids as well I think that they may have had a hand in the problem.

 Have a great day.

Hey

I have been reading in all these different forms, and figured that my TV need the IC's to be changed; I have Mitsubishi WS-65819.  I have already purchased and soldered the chips in (my skills are much better than the average person). I went to turn on the TV and nothing; it turns on, then immediately off. I ran the error check and get "22...Short Protect circuit." I have looked everywhere for what this means. I have even purchased a service manual, and I still doesn't tell me what to do / check / replace, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Miles

What did the set do before you changed the IC's?

it was not a bad as alot of these other people, but it had a little mis alinment along the edges. like if you are wathing ESPN or something like that with a lot of words. it was very hard to rad the words.

Check your solder connection on the IC's. Make sure you have none of the IC connections shorting together.

mills, if the set worked before you changed the IC's, then you pulled out a plug part way while working on the set, or the IC's you replaced were no good. Where did you buy them from?

yeah i have already tryed putting to originals back into the board just to check, the same thing is happening. error 22 short protection circut. i will go though and check all the plugs. but i got them form www.bluestar-online.com

by the way thanks for all of the sugetions so far

Look for solder splashes on the printed circuit board also.

Hey larry, it is steve again.  I am sorry you are probably getting tired of hearing from me, but I replaced those resistors and now the t.v. tries to turn on but then clicks right back to off.  One of the resistors was bad but now I cannot get the t.v. to turn on.  Please let me know if you have any advice

February 25, 2008 4:44 PM

ok so i had me and a friend both go over every plug and stille nothing, I have yet to check of solder splashes though. so any other suggestion would be great. just some quick questions, how much does a new power board cost, might it be easyer to replace, or is it just too much?

Thanks Again

Miles

Make sure the numbers or letters on the plugs match the connectors on the board. Everyone is marked.

Hey larry, sorry to bug you.  Do you think that I did something wrong, or have you heard of this happening before

February 25, 2008 7:11 PM

but i thought only one plug can fit in one socket

February 25, 2008 9:06 PM

Nope, Some sets have different plugs that can fit differeant connectors.

Thanks for the help that you provided.  I guess I will try to figure it out from here.

Hey,

Does anyone know what the small white wire is coming off the flyback transformer and connecting to the screen/focus adjustment module of a mitsu wt-42313 (and probably other mits models).

Thanks.

Anybody on here.  I need help please.  I started out with an I.C. issue.  I replaced them and when I turned the t.v. on I still had the same issue.  The lines for convergence were still bowed.  I talked to larry and he advised me to change the resistors.  I tested them and one of them was blown.  I took the old resistors to an electronics suplly place here in kansas city.  He gave me two new resistors and I installed them.  Now when I turn the t.v. on the green light clicks on and then goes right back off.  I unplugged the t.v. set for a half hour hoping that it would reset.  Plugged it back in and am having the same problem.  If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it.  This t.v. is 8 years old and I dont want to spend the big bucks to have someone else fix it.  I dont even know if it is worth it to spend that much money on a set this old.  Please if anyone else has ran into this problem or knows something that I dont, I would greatly appreciate the advice.

February 26, 2008 11:26 AM

SMorris,

Did you happen to check the error code for the problem? My set is giving a 22 code which corresponds to 'short circuit protect'. I am not sure what to do from here. If anyone has any suggestions on a troubleshooting method for 'short circuit protect', please let me know. SMorris, press and hold the menu and input button on the set for 6 seconds, then count the flashes... it should repeat the code 5 times I think. My set was working, just red ghosting image. I replaced the ICs and now this.  Anyone have any ideas what could have gone wrong? Would a bad lot of ICs cause this problem? Larry.. you seem very knowledgable... ideas?

Thank you very much.

No mine didnt give any codes.  I am not sure about yours either, as I am new to this.  I have a background in electronics from the military, but this is different to me as it is a tv, and not communications equipment.  I am kind of lost right now also.  I wish I could help you
