Hi madthumper, This is a complex issue. I am not familiar with the Dell box but if you download a free prog called Audacity it can open just about any audio file there is. You can then "export" it as a .wav file and WMP will convert to mp3 (I think, don't use it much). Also have you got Winamp?

If you just want to store music in a big way, burn it as data on dvd.

Some stuff you have to do in real time e.g. radio streams. Can you record the output of your pc on that pc? If not, come back.
