My 27" Sony Trinitron XBR's color became mixed, i.e., the picture is clear, however, the color has changed. People's faces are a light green. There's more purple. The only control I have is with the remote. What do you think is the problem & how can it be repaired? Cost?

Our Sony Trinitron XBR picture went blank and the red blinking light indicating the TV went into standby mode. What can I do to get the light off and the picture back? The sound is still there. Thanks

A friend of mine had a similar problem and a repairman simply replaced a chip. Cost = approx. $70.00

Nate Dog, what does the picture look like when you lower or turn off the color all the way. If the screen or when you watch a B&W movie or show on the TV set, and the picture Without the color looks purpleish, or a differant color, and not B&W, Most likly there is a problem with the picture tube, the auto kine bias circuit, or in the RGB driver circuits.

Larry Dillon: When I turned the color off, the picture on the screen is black and white... no other colors, no hue, no tint, just black and white. The picture is still clear.
It is probably a fault in the color processor circuit since the set has a good B&W picture. this could be a almost anything in that circuit .. Whats the complete model number? And chassis number?

Larry Dillon: Thank you for your response. The Model No.: KV-27XBR50, Serial No.: 7000B71, Manufactured: May 1990. I couldn't find a chassis number. What are we looking at as far as a color processor circuit? Again, thank you for your response.
