Any old-timers out there? I've got a Panasonic RX-DT505 Portable Stereo CD/tape system that has worked like a champ for more than a decade.

Yesterday, though, I tried to copy an audiotape and found that Deck 2 will not play. Whether I hit "record" or "play," it starts and then immediately stops. I tried inserting several different tapes to make sure it wasn't just a stubborn tape. But no, it's the deck.

Any ideas?

Hey Jenna,

Did you get anywhere on this problem. I'm having the same issue. Didn't use the tape deck for a couple years and now ... nothing.

No, Scott, I've gotten nowhere on this. Now there are two of us with the same question. I realize that audiotapes are passé, but surely someone out there must be able to dig into their memory banks and retrieve some info about this?
