Just received a Sony DAV-DX and after hooking it all up, it shows a black and white screen. The DVD's are also in blk. and white. So what did I, or Sony do wrong? All cables are hooked up as the book shows. Bummer...

Are you using the S-Video connection?

If you're using the composite video connection and all images are black and white (verified with more than one DVD), and the color setting on your TV is not all the way down, then it is very possible you've got a bum unit. To be absolutely sure, hook it up to another TV. If it's black and white, you know for sure.
