I have this phone (GE 27995ge1-a)and when I try and set the outgoing answering machine message it sounds like loud static (you can still hear some of my voice), any suggestions regarding this or ways to record the outgoing message from a remote location? Thanks!

I've had this phone for years. It has worked out very well for me. Recently I moved and unplugged it and it never worked again. What the heck happened?
