I'm not sure how it started but there is a new pastime that is surely going to sweep the country - Segway Spotting. While we wait for the inevitable Trainspotting movie sequel, I'll start by including a few starter pics.

These are actual pics of my Segway taken in the first month after I bought it. Round, round, get around, it gets around...

Here we are in front of Mr. Farrakhan's house. Despite putting on my best bowtie, I was not granted an audience with the man and will have to find another avenue for pitching my million-Segway march!

Been absent for awhile but still keeping an eye out for Segways. Here are some that Yahoo outfitted as chariots at the recent Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas.

Forgot to post this back on Thanksgiving Day. I have to say that the Segway held up well in the Chicago cold but when cruising along at a brisk 12 mph, you'll want to better account for the wind chill!

Move over Bigfoot

These rare photos were taken by an amateur who says that this is definitive proof that there are wild Segways running loose in the deep woods of the upper Midwest. The images are blurry to be sure but there is no mistaking the distinctive form of the half-bike/half-pogostick human transporter. You judge for yourself.

Finally got my first ride on a segway! You think it's a toy until you actually ride it. Very fun! Very new-and-different! Very obvious that the technology in this thing goes way beyond this toy-like first version.

Great shot of the Segway here in the park. If you squint, you can just make out the big statue in the background -- its right behind that homeless guy who turned down my offer for a ride.
