Suffice to say, there is very little about Admiral TV sets. Not only was obtaining a manual impossible, but I can't even track down a web site for this brand. The V-Chip bypass code will most likely be available in the owner's manual of the TV, but I doubt you'll have much luck finding one. Perhaps the owner you purchased it from still has the manual, or at least remembers the current V-Chip code.

I did find one obscure reference on this subject while surfing the web. Here's a few things to try and fix this on your own:
1. Unplug for 30 min.
2. Set vol. to minimun, hold volume down and press 0 on remote (to release V chip)
3. Or go to "installation" menu, then 4,7,2,and 5 (maybe all at once?)

I'd be curious to know if any of these suggestions work. Please post back with the results!

There is conflicting information about the Admiral brand of TVs, but the general concensus is that Admiral has been out of business for many years. I would contact the original owner of the TV and ask if they still have it. Perhaps someone with a similar TV will stumble on to this thread and help you, but until then there is no reference material or support options for the Admiral line of products. Of course, you could start at 0000 and work your way through 9999. It may take you a year or so, but you'll hit the right combo eventually.

I think Matt's right, you're best bet is to find someone else that happens to have an admiral TV user's manual. Those things are hard to find. If not, you might want to sell it at your own yard sale...
