I am sorry i have to say this

I am sorry i have to say this but any of the Philips tv's with the small signal board, are very poorly designed. I hate these. You problem is most likely the small signal board. it is a small board looking

from the back of the tv on you left side standing up in the middle of the left board. The part number is right on the board on a white tag. Here is the big problem ! I get allot of bad boards when i order them from Philips. If you get one and it still acts up, maybe with different symptoms,  suspect that you got a bad small signal board, they are notorious for this. My worst case was when i had to order 4 of them  untill i finally got one to work. Philips wants you to clean the connector pins, and the socket. Even change the socket, but this had never worked for me. The only fix was to replace the board in every case. Now, Philips used this board in many of their televisions including the direct view tv's. Each one has a different part number. It is best to get the number off the tag! you can check pts for this board as well. And you might be saying that; "well there is no high voltage". My answer to that is that the horizontal pulse that eventually generates the high voltage also comes from this board, it is the originator of almost every signal in that tv . It could be a bad horz output, or some other problem, but knowing this tv, and having seen sooooo many it most likely is the ssb.

that is a link to mcm they seem to have it, but you MUST check the number on the board, DON"T blindly order this board. Only order this board when you are SURE it is the correct one.
