When I try to install this program, I get a message about corrupt file in the first process. Any suggestions? I have written the company for help.
VHS2DVD Wizard - Converts VHS to DVD
Categories: News, Rumors, and Trends

VHS2DVD Wizard is another competitor in the VHS to DVD conversion market. It presents a simple and tidy way to convert your videos to DVD. Sure it might not have the same features as some of the other competitors (round up) but it does it cheaper and perhaps with less hassle.
Plug in the 2 video cables to connect your PC via USB to your VHS player, install the software and simply hit play on your VHS machine. The software will capture it as it is playing and allow you to edit unwanted sections out at the end (such as ads) before finally burning it to DVD, or simply saving it on your computer for future viewings. The price ($50) is very similar to that of Honestech’s VHS to DVD Deluxe (which we’ve tried and tested), but keep in mind that the Honestech product doesn’t care whether it’s VHS or any other analog source (audio and/or video) that has RCA output jacks.
Price: $49.99
(Please note prices are subject to change and the listed price is correct to the best of our knowledge at the time of posting)

VHS2DVD wizard does not work. Do not buy it. It is defective. Sent mine back but DID NOT RECIEVE afull refund
Writing the company for help will not do any good as they do not answer any mail. I've written them several times and never received an answer.
This is Keith Gilbert, founder of VHS2DVDWizard.com/ClearClick Software
Keith Briggs - your return was received on July 13, 2010, and your refund was sent the next day. To those reading, our system does indeed work and we guarantee it.
Gerry G - we answer all support requests promptly. Our support desk is at http://support.vhs2dvdwizard.com Be sure to check your SPAM folder for our responses.
Thank you.
It cost me $9:00 to send it back. I was not refunded that after asking you for a return #. Your Specail tech even admitted you have many cefective units you have sent out. I sent many unanswered questions to your only support which is only through email and many were unansrwered or took days and days to answer.
Keith Briggs
Keith,
We do not reimburse customers for return shipping. We never promised it would be, and our website does not either.
Thank you,
Keith Gilbert

Keith Gilbert's statement that all email is answered promptly if addressed to http://support.vhs2dvdwizard.com sounds good, but it has never happened with the four emails I sent to the correct address. I never received an answer, period.
Gerry,
I did a search through our support center, and every single ticket opened by the name "Gerry" were answered promptly months ago.
If you post your last name or send an email to me at keith [at] clearclicksoftware.com, I'll track down what happened. Most likely, your spam folder caught our responses.
To any potential customers reading, we take pride in our prompt and helpful support.
Thank you,

Keith,
You don't seem to understand, My spam folder did not catch anything from VHS2DVD in any form or manner. I have received several ads from same trying to sell me new items or upgrades. These were not in the spam folder. I've had nothing but trouble with the VHS2DVD device and software. I realize you're trying to make a living but, not acknowledging emial until a complaint is seen in Techlore is not service.
FYI: The VHS2DVD device and the software were considered here as a total waste and were added to the local land fill two weeks ago. Enjoy my $50.00.
Gerry G.
Gerry,
I politely repeat my request for your last name and email address. You do not have to post these here. Email me these details at keith [at] clearclicksoftware.com.
There is no way to investigate your case unless you supply me with the details.
Most likely what happened was that you send an email to a "No Reply" company email address, rather than opening a support ticket. We reply to tickets within 24-48 hours max.
We have thousands of customers who have been satisfied by our support and our product line.
Thank you,
Keith Gilbert

Oh, my! I just ordered this product, and then decided to look up some comments away from their web-site. I sure do hope this works!! I am wanting to transfer some old vhs of my brother who just passed away demonstrating cooking on a local TV channel. We want to use these for his memorial. I've never tried any thing like this before, so hoping it works. I'm convinced that the co. has good customer service after reading this though.....
I also would discourage anyone from buying this VHS2DVD Software. I was also unable to load this program successfully ... with also repeatedly getting the corrupt file message. Even checked my computer set-up to make sure this was not causing the problem ... found everything in order according to their facts information, and downloaded manual
I also e-mailed Keith Gilbert several times and even wrote Keith a letter that was mailed to him ... again asking for help, and an exchange thinking my software was possibly defective, but once again to no avail. No help was ever received from Keith or anyone else.
All I ever received was information on their trying to sell me several other programs of theirs ... which I thought was a joke. I even e-mailed them questioning ... as to how they would even think I would consider purchasing another program of theirs with getting no response or help ...for the first VHS2DVD program bought from Keith Gilbert's Software Co.
I AGREE WITH THE ABOVE, Keith Gilbert does not stand behind his product or statement of support on the site. I feel robbed of the price I paid for this program. Guess I also could have sent it back, but having many family VHS tapes I kept it tryig to re-load it ... thinking I was doing something wrong ... by then I believed it too late to send back for a credit. WISH I HAD FOUND THIS SITE BEFORE BUYING ... I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SOFTWARE PROGRAM TO ANYONE.

I currently have an open ticket asking for assistance for the following problem. The wizard captures the VHS Video and I can play it back flawlessly on Windows Media Player unfortunatly every time I try to burn a copy to a DVD disk the Wizard freezes up my computer and no matter what I do I get the same results
vhs2dvdwizardsuppor. - [#829198] My first ticket requesting assistance was responded to by DAN W. in the following manner
Our customer support team personnel has replied to your support request #569124

This reply was in response to a problem of the Wizard failing to copy to DVD. I responded Dans Questian but as yet have not recieved Help with the Problem which I explaned in very direct and simple terms that the Wizard will not copy to DVD's Perhaps I will get a more faverable answer to the current ticket an answer that perhaps addresses the problem.
I hope this posting helps any one considering purchasing this program.

Hello.... everyone out there do your self a very big favor and do not even think of spending money on VHS2DVD. At best it is a very bad product (Only suitable for the local land fill) and support is next to non existing two requests for help with the failure of the program to copy to DVD (see supports answer to the first request above dated 2-16-2011) would be almost amusing if it was not borderline stupid. Supports second response to the same problem was a suggestion that I just use NERO to copy the file to a DVD as that would do the same thing that VHS2DVD should do if it would only work. I find this very insulting to think that any one would be satisfied with a response that says basically ...our product dose not work for you and we are really not interested in helping you so just use soft ware from another provider... And oh by the way would you be interested in giving us some more of your money for other worthless products that we offer???? I have on file six emails from "Kieth" the founder of the company inviting me to purchase more of his soft ware. Hay Kieth my daddy may have raised some fools but not the first Idiot. Thanks but no thanks.
We have had the vhs2dvd device and software for a few years now. We love ours! We have had problems off and on, and have opened customer service tickets. We have always had a response. EVERY TIME. Yes, some of them are just basic "dummy-check" questions, the equivelent of being asked "is the power on?"by any other tech support(usually asked with a strong Indian accent, when I call Dell tech, anyway :). It seems to take up to 48 hours to recieve a response, but they do respond!
When we bought a laptop exclusively for converting media files, we had to get a new capture device that works with Windows 7. We did have a problem with capturing audio. After a lot of back and forth trouble shooting, Tyler set up an appointment to call me and walked me through some trouble shooting. What he had me do worked perfectly! I have recorded 10 videos since Wednesday!!!! The key to getting responses with VHS2DVD is to follow the instructions. Do not "reply" to the emails, follow the "ticket" link. That is of utmost importance!! And I would suggest to be very thorough in your description of the problem. Describe not only what it won't do, but what it will do, and what is showing on the screen... as much info as you can give them will speed up the process :)
We are converting our video library to DVD. We have recorded many, many videos with no problem. We are now working on Dis*ney movies. The VHS2DVD device works!! And it works well!
Oh, and one more thing. The sales emails referred to in previous posts are OPTIONAL. Those people above signed up to recieve OPTIONAL emails. We had the device for years before I signed up to get the sales emails. That has NOTHING to do with their customer service. Not. One. Thing. If you don't want to know about new products, don't, but you can still recieve excellent customer service. That's all optional!
One happy customer among many!
Amanda C.
Hi Amanda,
Thank you for the positive feedback! :)

I too purchased the VHS2DVD device and am having a few issues. After a bit of back and forth I now have audio but still waiting on response for no video. I do hope it can get resolved as I too am trying to preserve a deceased little girls' video for her mother. I'm starting to get a little frustrated but trying to be patient. It certainly would be much more efficeint if this could be completed over the phone due to the long email lag.
Amanda,
lucky you to receive useful information that solved your problem. I am truly happy for you, however that is not the case with me. For those of you out there that might be considering purchasing the VHS2DVD Wizard read on and see the other side of the coin.
I purchased my VHS2 DVD devise in late January and have had nothing but problems with the devise and the almost non existing tech support. I currently have a ticket open that has at least five back and forth questions/answers but no answers that resolve the problem. This over a period of about 10 days but in the past 4 days nothing.
However all of this does not help me as my devise dose not work and only has worked twice in three months and that this past week.
Considering two conversion to DVD every three months or eight per year and my haveing 462 movies and VHS videos that I would like convert to DVD it will only take me 57 years 9 months to complete the project. I am, at present, 75 years of age so I, perhaps will finish the project near the end of my 132 year.
At present mydevise does not work and it is unlikely that it will ever work. It appears to be headed to the local land fill.
My recommendation to anyone wanting a DVD converter to go to the following web page where you can get a unbiased, comparison, by consumers of these devices. /vhs-to-dvd-converters-review.toptenreviews.com/ And guess what the number one rated is also the least expensive.
I thought it interesting that owner Kieth was able to respond to Amanda in just 5 hours. But tech support takes days and now it appears it might go to a weeks!
Good by all God bless and love you
GRH
Hi Garry,
Sorry to hear about your issues. I am guessing some of our responses have gone to your spam filter, because we respond to most tickets within 24-48 hours.
I am willing to help you personally with your issue. Please email me at keith(AT)clearclicksoftware.com and I'll get right back to you.
Thank you,

I don't know what Garry H's problem is, but my experience follows more closely to Amanda C's. I had ordered the VHS2DVD Wizard, received it in less than 3 days, it did not work at first on my Windows 7 machine (no audio). Two replies into the support board and a phone call from Tyler had me up and running. I've been converting my VHS tapes left and right, without issue. Sounds to me that ole Garry is just trying to hock some DVD conversion goods from another website.
A very satisfied customer!
T.A.
Thor Perhaps you should go back and read my post. then you would know what my problem is. Simply put in three months I have been able to convert no more than two VHS tapes to DVD. You are fortunate Thor, you get replys and even a phone call "Ole" Garry gets Very little response and never a phone call try as I may I do not get phone number. You had trouble for a few days Ole Garry has has a problem for three months. Do you see a slight difference hear.....DUH...
My post you refer to was made honestly to to give a different side to the story being put forth by shills like Thor and Amanda. I have no intrest in hocking anything. I would just like to have a solution to the problem. Kieth (the owner)offered to help me and gave me a email address to him personally unfortunaly when I explained the problem and used his email I was redirected to tech support with instructionc to open a ticket .... I have no less than six tickets posted the last of which has been going on over a month now... DUH... can you see a possible reason for frustration hear on my part Have your friend Tyler call me or post to me perhaps he can solve the problem. Have a nice day.

vhs2dvd is by far the is worst software ever there is no number to reach them and the email response is pitaful but i saved my package and all reciepts currently talking to a bbb rep about this company and it seems that the ball is about to get rolling against this company in my favor when all i want is my money back so keith if youre reading this maybe finally you will contact me by email and resolve this for me as for your other customers that have posted complaints here is the secret leave information so that other dissatified customer may be able to contact you so that you have proof that it dosent do what it says it will ps what company dosent have a support desk that you can call when youre having problems.if i dont hear from this guy in 2days i will post another comment with my email address so those that want to participate in a class action lawsuit against vhs2dvd and keith gilbert.its sad that we have to go through but some people just think that can get rich from those that just have the energy to fight they base thier business on those that dont have the time to ask for thier refund back and for every 10 people that dont asks for refunds thats 500 dollars now times that by the thousands that he say brought his product.herehis an example on this there maybe 15 comments about this software with only one that is happy and i believe he asked a family member or maybe himself to post it understand
2 days i will respond again if he dont contact me and lets band together and put this guy with his dad (bernie m}
