More TV Inputs! My JoyTech A/V Control Center 240 Series

I ran out of inputs on my TV. I've got so many things hooked into my TV and so many wires sticking out the back, it's driving my wife crazy.

Here's what I have hooked into one of my TVs currently:

  • DVD Player
  • VCR
  • DirecTV TiVo Series 1
  • DirecTV High Definition (HD) receiver
  • Media Center PC
  • MovieBeam
  • Nintendo GameCube
I needed more inputs on my TV, so I read this article on What to do if you run out of inputs on your TV and decided I needed to buy an external video switch box. I did some investigation and found a very reasonably priced component switch at Best Buy for $89.99. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Here's a quick description of the features:

It has 7 inputs total (including one on the front), meaning that you can plug 7 devices into it and switch between them. ]

In addition to composite and s-video connections, it supports component and digital audio connections, meaning that the picture quality and audio is great quality.

It has an LCD screen on the front that tells you what switch is currently active and comes with a remote control to change to a different input.

It's a small device that fits nicely into your A/V cabinet and is only $90.

Bottom line is that I'm very pleased with my purchase and happy I was able to find something this good for only $90.

My blog will take a practical approach to helping you with some day-to-day ideas on how to get more out of your consumer electronic devices. As I encounter questions and comments from people I meet and help, I will document them here and hopefully they will be of help to other people with similar issues. Enjoy and if you have something that you'd like me to write about, please send me a private message.
