It continues to amaze me how easily it is becoming to play your music where ever you are. I was out of town on a short vacation this week with my family when my son pulled out his precious Pokemon CD and asked if he could play it. Being the loving father that I am, of course I said yes :-) However, we were immediately hit with a problem, his portable CD player that we let him use was still at home. He was left with no way to play it since we didn't have a stereo where we were staying.

It took me a couple of minutes, but in thinking about this problem more, I came up with several ideas for his listening pleasure as alternatives:

• Play in the Car - We have a CD Player in the car, so while we are driving we could all learn how to become Pokemon Masters.
• Play in my Laptop - I brought my laptop along of course which has a built in CD/DVD player that he could even connect headphones to so that I didn't have to hear what happens to Pikachu.
• Transfer to MP3 player - My wife brought along her iPod and with a click of the button, his beloved songs about Ash were transferred on the player for listening where ever he went.
• Play in the DVD player - Our DVD player has MP3 playback built-in so all I needed was a blank CD and I could burn his music right onto the CD with my laptop and he could spend all day in front of the TV listening to the Pokemon battles.

It was enlightening to me that I was able to come up with four alternatives in a matter of minutes. What other ideas do you have?
