Understanding Sony Television Blinking Codes

Many of the later model Sony TV’s have a built in self-diagnosis function. If the timer/standby indicator is blinking, this could be an indication of a problem with the unit. The diagnostic blinking will occur automatically with no action required by you to engage it. Read on to learn what these diagnostic codes mean, and how you can use that information to get up and running again.

I have no experince with tv's do you think I could fix this my self?, and I ve been looking for parts with no luck? also I read other post where a guy had a similar problem, he said he tryed to adjust the tube, but there was a dark vertical line, I noticed this on mine right before it shuts off. probably the blue tube is bad? how do I know if anything else is the problem to cause the tube to go? or is this common for a set 5 years old like this one (sony kp-51ws520), Thank you you have been very helpful so far just reading the other post.

Problem started after our child turned the our Sony KV-36FS320 on and off reapeatedly until it would no longer come on.. Now when turning the tv on it sounds like it is going to come on then goes off again with a three code flash. Is this the over voltage protection board or the power supply?

Hoping to fix this myself- where can i get part numbers and a good site to get parts?

according to my records on this model the A board has a problem.

My Sony KV28CL10U tv is not turning on. I can hear the sound ok, but the picture is not coming. In addition the power light is blinking 5 times. I can see from your post above that its a problem with AKB circuit. Can you tell me approximate cost of replacing this circuit? I live in London, United Kingdom.

Unfortunately, I do not have any access to any foreign service manuals as these sets are a lot different in design so I cannot help you with this one. Not only is the power supply way different, so is the color/video circuitry Good luck

hockeydad said: I have a service manual for my kv-36xbr800. The set blinks three times and then goes to stand by. A blog I looked at said IC6505 is bad. On the Tech lore it also gave T603 and r672. Neither of these references show up in the component listing. Any one have any idea which these refer to?
I think my service manual  download finally worked today. This is the issue I am trying to resolve. THe part numbers given here do not match the manual. The IC 6505 does.

The  part numbers do not match the service manual that are given in the code responses. Can these be updated?
