The iPod Battery

A TechLore "Ask the Experts" Question...

Question:

Will partially recharging my ipod battery reduce the total life of the battery over time? Also, what is the deal on recharging the battery before it is fully drained? Does this also reduce the life?

-submitted by LizR

Answer:

So far, all iPod units

contain a Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery. Lithium-Ion, like all other rechargeable batteries, have suggested methods for handling, which can help improve the overall life of the battery.

Check out the article Getting the Most Out of Rechargeable Batteries for information about using and maintaining your Lithium-Ion battery.
